Re: Kuhn Seed

Bill why are you jumping on Marv.Did he go out and spend. $25000 DOLLARS ON A SEED. I think that the only thing Marv was saying is that in ten years it maybe hard for a grower to obtain good seeds, without paying an arm and a leg for the seed. I think that if we remember our roots how most of us got started by the generosity of fellow growers, Even in ten years there will be seeds out there of good quality genes.
My last comment you should not make a public attack on someone and then tell them to EMAIL YOU PRIVATELY
If you didn't mean it to be an attack that's how it came across to me.

Marve: Yes, Your problem is growing a big pumpkin. Howard Dill is doing the best he can under the situation
you and others without morals presented to him. How in the world do you expect him to respond to you, he is the
king,  no one but you will question that. You & I'm being general in this. Why when you pay $25,000 Us for seed that
you get the Gaul to commend him for selling the best he has for $8 dollars. You should be ashamed of your self.

If you really want a Kuhn 712, try writing him. He is very generous with his
seeds and sent me some when I wrote him and sent a SASE. I don't have his
address but it is in one of the newsletters. It may get more difficult to get
good seeds or maybe easier in the future if you want to pay. Howard Dill
appears to be buying seeds from big pumpkins and then selling them on his web
site. I have no problem with this but as I see the prize money growing and
these "privately grown" seeds being sold on the internet I am getting
concerned that it is all becoming too commercial. Where will we be in ten
years? Also I wonder if there are enough growers out there willing to buy
these seeds such that it will really be a profitable venture for those
selling. Not my problem. My problem is how to grow a bigger pumpkin.
