Re: pumpkins DIGEST V1 #265

Just was wondering if anyone in the group has ever played around with static
electricity or electromagnetic fields on plants (AG'S).Was thinking of trying
this by using 12 gauge copper wire and incorporating in somehow with the
plant. Then run it up above the plant and attaching pie pans to it to produce
EMF's or static electricity then direct it down to the plant.
Just a thought, Maybe a crazy thought
Would this be worth a try?

Response to the electrostatic theory Dale:

Dale, not a crazy thought at all.  Well, I am anxiously awaiting the resolution and analytical research if that 12 guage wire helps the growth of pumpkins.   That magnetic field might even be a final solution to keeping the borers and bugs away, heck, it might even work on the groundhogs, rabbits, and deer, and much more safer for the environment if done correctly.   You might have to weave it through the patch, not just the perimiter.

On the lighter side Dale, you might wind up with blackbird pie ya know, with them literally dropping in to see your plants. Not sure how much organic value they would be, feathers and beaks might be ok, dried blood might be ok in the summer if you'd bury them quick.    Hey, if you can keep a constant eye on the patch, you've already got the pie pans there for the blackbird pie, just need nice rolled dough for the top of it.   Yumm.
