Re: water

Hi,
We have a similar problem here in Texas. If you fill your barrels with municipal water and let it sit  for 24 hours, most of the chlorine will pass off into the air. Another advantage to this is that the water temperature will be warmer when you water your plants and will create less stress.  Hope this helps.

List,
Have a question. I have primarily used municipal water for my plants and am searching for alternative ways to water my plants. Problem is that the water I've used contains a fair amount of chlorine which some local people have said isn't very good for the pumpkins. I haven't grown any over 310# so maybe this is true. The plants don't seem to suffer but the pumpkins do.
I'm looking to possibly drill a well just for my garden, or another possibility is to pump rainwater out of barrels or I live about a 1/4 mile from the Ohio River and some have said plants will flourish from river water. Does anyone have any insight on this particular problem. Any and all assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance and Happy Holidays!
