Thank you Duncan.
I was about to ask you to email me privately about the matter. I've been
promoting the good part of giant pumpkin growing for more than 20 years and
look to the good in people for that challenge. Your recent post about "Dan
Gardener" also brought back memories concerning the start of this board, when
Dan contacted me about his intentions. I know they were good, also; and
applaud you for upholding that respect and your commitment to the
preservation of it. This medium is and can be the "greatest asset we hold as
competition growers"! I ask all to focus on our goal. I'm predicting a
1,500 lber within 2 years and a 2,000 lber (one ton) within the next decade.
They said I was crazy about a 400 lb specimen grown in NY State way back and
that, 1,000 lb prediction in 1986, well that was pure nonsense! But, we know
different. I came to a very positive personal realization after looking upon
Tim Bailey's 1245 lber at the weigh-off last September. That being, "it can
be done!"
I hope all have a Great Holiday Season and the true spirit of humanity shines
throughout this message board!
