Subject: PGPGA Seed Raffle Results
The PGPGA Seed Raffle has been drawn, and the winners are listed below. Thank
you very much to all who have helped with donations of raffle ticket
purchases. This low sponsorship club did very well with this function, and we
just want to convey our appreciation. The results listed below show that
multiple purchases do pay off in a raffle such as this, as 2 growers won two
lots each, and there were 2 other lucky winners as well. I will not divulge
how much money each person spent, but it was more than the 3 chances for 20
bucks that most put in (including myself!). Lots are listed with the winner's
name in parenthesis after each one.
1. Pukos 805 and Pukos 1024 (James Carson)
2. Knauss 898 and Larsen 1156 (Eric Gerry)
3. Checkon 815 and Beachy 1097.5 (Robert Duffy)
4. Checkon 986 and Ciliberto 1097 (Robert Duffy)
5. Checkon 1242 and Ciliberto 1061.5 (Jeff Johnson)
6. Checkon 1051 and Checkon 1162 (James Carson)

List:
After finding out that our group was great at generating names for various
vegetables a friend of mine asked that I post this for the list. It seems he has
developed a giant cucumber and wondered if some of you might suggest a name
appropriate for his new variety. His wife had suggested that he use her pet
name for him but that idea was immediately rejected. Do any of you have
suggestions for naming this huge new cucumber variety? He hasn't offered a prize for
the best name but who knows. Maybe a Calai 846??

tested in MT?:)
