Waller 837
The hottest seed on the market today is the 898 Knauss, which grandparent is
the 837 Waller. I saw the 837 Waller plant that Kevin Brown got the male
pollen from, and while it didnt throw any huge fruit in weight, it did grow
one that weighed in at 320 pounds that only charted at 200 pounds. It was all
cracked on the skin like the floor of a lake that hasnt had water in it for
200 years, and when cut open, had no interior cavity. I distinctly remember
this fruit, as most of todays 898 charateristics came from this plant.
My question about the 837 Waller is this.. Where did you say he lived Ray? I
live 35 miles from Bill Bobier, and there is no Ninevah NY to my knowledge. I
would love to talk to this Waller fella, and find out the parentage of the 837
also. Kevin is a loyal Clarence NY weigh off participant, and got his seeds
from Ray, and Ray is out of these 837's I believe. Does anyone out there have
any of these seeds still? I would love to acquire one in a trade, but have not
seen or heard of any out there. I know they are getting old, but check your
seed libraries.
