So what is the big deal about compost tea? It is the microbes man! The microbes! Giant pumpkin plants are like a fertilizer sponge. But the use of chemical
fertilizers, fungicides, and pesticides may kill off many of the soils beneficial microbes. But the use of compost tea may help a grower get around this problem by adding beneficial microbes to plant surfaces and soil!
Compost tea helps a grower put some life back into his or her soil.
Here is an addy for a website with a little more info on the topic: h**p://www.taunton.com/finegardening/pages/g00030.asp
Happy giant pumpkin growing!
