My Poem

Submitted by, Mike Lill of Warwick, Rhode Island

Over the Winter there is so much to do,
a season of planning and gathering to,
as the white gold falls over our land,
we say to ourselves isn't this grand.

We all wait for Spring,
and hope for good weather,
we use our greenhouses,
to make things better.

Spring is here and the leaves are budding,
which one will keep the bees humming?
The vines are now traveling all over the place,
this is a good sign since we want first place.

The dog days are here,
the pumpkins are growing,
thinking of the past,
but they are making it last.

Pumpkins, pumpkins, everywhere,
but only one will make the day,
the biggest the strongest I do say,
But will it take the highest weigh?
