Dohm 961 - Additional Data

The additional information contained here came from Jerry Dohm's wife
Jeannie.

>He grew three plants that produced a Dohm961 (I believe a new state
>record), a Dohm811 and two on a plant at 500 and 460 pounds.

All three plants were open pollinated. The plant with the 961 lb. fruit at
season end was
79' long x 45' wide. The 961 was pear shaped, 4 1/2 ft. end to end and deep
orange in color.
At this moment they do not know where the nephew got the seed that produced
the plant
that their seeds came from. They had no idea people tracked seed heritage,
but now hope to get that
information from the nephew.

Seeds were started inside in April and set out, in cold frames, in mid-May.
Jerry obtained
cultivation information from his nephew, who had obtained it from the
British National Pumpkin Society.

>He said he would sell the seed at 3 for $10.

Someone from California, she thinks Mt. View, ordered 80 seeds that were
just shipped.
(About $300 worth!!!)

> If you're interested you can call him at 715-833-1385.

They both get up at 3:00 am for work, so both go to bed early so they are
hard to reach.
Also they leave next week for a cruise so Jeannie says it is better to send
the standard
self-addressed stamped bubble pack with your request and funds to:

Thanks for the heads up on this John.
