 George:

I was at the grocery store looking at all the dog food available. I couldn't
make up my mind which one to buy. Also I didn't know how much I needed. Can
you tell me how many pounds I need per thousand square feet of garden, which
one to buy and when to put it on? And would a little cat food help? My dog
and
 I are awaiting your reply.

I by the cheapest Poultry By Product Meal Based Dry Dog Food I can find. I
buy it at a warehouse store like Sam's in 50 lb. bags. Other ingredients that
help the garden are: Ground Yellow Corn, Bone Meal, Corn Gluten Meal, Soybean
Meal, Wheat Middlings, Ground Wheat, Wheat Germ Meal, Ground Oats, Brewers
Dried Yeast, Dried Skim Milk, Dried Whey.

In the Spring I add Fish Based Dry Cat Food. Benifical additives in the Cat
Food are:
Salmon Meal, Shrimp Meal, Tuna Meal, Poultry By Product Meal, Animal Digest,
Turkey Meal, Liver Meal, Ground Yellow Corn, Ground Wheat, Corn Gluten Meal
Soybean Meal, Brewers Dried Yeast

Amounts 30-40 lbs of Dog food per 1000 sq ft, 25 for the Cat Food.

If you missed the Fall treatment I would mix Dog and Cat Food in the Spring.
Maybe put 25 lbs. of each. Both will help increase beneficial Bacteria,
increase Earth Worm population, increase plants Disease Resistance and provide
a Slow Release Fertilizer that will last all season. This is not intended to
replace Manure but be an addition to it. I also use Liquid Fish and Seaweed
Fertilizer during the season. I have two other secret ingredients that I also
add to increase Bacteria levels but I won't be releasing that info until next
Fall. One is a very old farmer's trick and one is very new.

Now Pet Food additives for gardens is not my idea it was actually promoted on
two TV gardening programs but nobody paid much attention. I did some research
on the
ingredients and decided to use them.

Side affects: Pumpkins sometimes bark when growing real fast, smell like fish
and tast like Chicken.
