Yes bottom heat is key!! whether on top of the fridge or outside with soil
heater cables, bottom heat makes a world of difference!! i have had successful
germination two weeks after a 2foot + snowstorm in April(1997) using a modified
version of George Brooks direct seed method!
Cold soil only results in damping off and poor seed germination!!
