I don't know what the scientific explanation is but basically the plant
takes up the chemical you put on it and incorporates it into it's system and
then when a bug bites it or a disease tries to infect it the plants own
juices are poisonous to whatever attacks it.So no matter how hard it rains
or how fast your plant grows it is protected.My experience is that most
systemic chemicals last about 3 weeks in the plant -max.Jerry
