Welcome to the Newest site on the net.. PGPGA.com!!

Pumpkineers,
After close to 2 months of research, picture hunting, info seeking,
the Pennsylvania Giant Pumpkin Grower's Association is pleased to
announce the newest pumpkin site on the web, PGPGA.com. Pgpga.com is an
organizational web page designed to inform the world about our great
state of Pennsylvania, the short past of the group, and much more
important, the great future this group is looking forward to.
It is no secret that one of our members currently holds the world
record, Gerry Checkon at 1131 pounds in the heaviest pumpkin category,
but did you know we also had the GPC largest cantelope in 1999 at 24.63
pounds? There are plenty of pages and pictures for you to browse, learn
, and enjoy, so kick back for a half hour, and poke in the corners and
learn obout the PGPGA.
Here is some samplings of what we have in our Grand Opening of
PGPGA.com:

1. Information about the past of the PGPGA, the present, and the future.
Our group has a membership for 15 dollars, please check out our
memebership page to see why being a member of the PGPGA is a great idea
(ask anyone in the PGPGA in 1998 who got a Checkon 815 in the seed
distribution). Our newsletters, growers support (now through the website
also), and seed distribution more than make up the money for the cost of
the membership, so please check that out.

2. Information on "How to" guide on how to send for free seeds, a gray
area which has sometimes become an issue on these lists. Also included
on these pages are instructions on how to get on these emailing lists
like Mallorn, and Onelist..

3. Please stop and register for the free seed giveaway, as Anyone who
stops at our grand opening between now and January 1, 2000 will be
entered into a drawing for an assortment of seeds, including the Checkon
815, the Rockwell 879, The Hicks 745, and more. You have to submit the
entry form on the site to be eligible, so don't delay!!

4. A message board is also included on the main page at the bottom(in
yellow), so please drop a note, comment,or ask a question there for any
of our members in the PGPGA, and we will get you an answer as quickly as
possible.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Marv Hicks, Larry
Checkon, and Marv Meisner for the great help in expediting pictures to
me, as I live on the northern border, and they live in southern
Pennsylvania, but the wonders of the net makes us all neighbors. Also
thanks to Rock Rivard for letting me steal a picture or two of some
PGPGA membershe has pictures of on his site.
