Regardless of what type of soil you have or even what your CEC is,
I feel that the bottom line is observation, as was discussed recently.
With all of the factors involved, one can only guess as to what the
correct amount of fert is needed. One reason for this is that you really
don't know how much N P and K will be slowly released through the
growing season by the manure and organic material that you put on.
Although the soil test will steer you in the right direction, you really
have to adjust the rate of fert as you go, based on leaf color, plant
growth rate and rate of growth of the fruit. You really have to fly by
the seat of your pants to achieve good results.
