I have never used the clips. I make a frame of 2x4s about 6' square, then
attach hoops of 1" PVC to that to make a mini-greenhouse about 3-4 feet
high. Then I lay construction-type clear plastic over the hoops and secure
them to the 2x4 frame with small nails or staples and furring strips. Even
in constant South Dakota winds this structure proved extremely durable. I
cut small doors in the ends for access and ventilation. I attached the 2x4
frame to the box around my raised bed with hinges so that I could lift off
the greenhouse easily on warm days and then replace it when the evening
turned cool. Only significant disadvantage ... small size.
Good luck,

Call them what you will, but I need to improve on mine. I found out very
quickly this year that my coldframes were way too small. I am curious as
to what types of protection other people are using and what they are made
from. I would like to build something out of PVC because of the low cost,
but my problem last year was holding the plastic on the frame. Any
thoughts?
