   I think the conditions in England in general are much cooler than the U.S. 
You don't get that many 90 and 95 degree days. If daytime temps drop below 70 
or 75, a greenhouse would help bring the temps up into an optimum range. The 
Pacific Northwest guys use alot of greenhouses for it is very cool there. 
Last year was real bad for them....cold. Deborah, it depends what your 
climate is.
