Resources for other giant vegetables/plants?
Today was an unusually warm February day for us here in Massachusetts. I
went out into the patch, which until recently had been covered with snow for
quite some time. I was pondering in the afternoon sun and was going through
what all needed to be done to get things ready and I had an odd thought.
I've been on this list awhile now and it has been great absorbing so much
great info from so many pros. But this year I have planned to try and
expand my horizon a little and try a few other giants. (sunflowers, corn,
cucumbers) But in all the time I spend on the web I've never seen a site
dedicated to growing a wide variety of giant plants. Or a listserve about
them for that matter. I know other people out there grow them, they pop up
every now and again. But am I missing something? I'd love to be on a
misc.giant-vegetable listserve if there were such a thing.
I know we've got pumpkins covered in reference to sites and lists but I
have been thinking that if there isn't much out there I might be interested
in creating a listserve and eventually a site. I'd be interested in other
opinions. If it is out there and I've just been missing it, please let me
know where to look. If it doesn't exist and you'd be interested in having
such a thing, let me know that too. If I can get maybe 10-12 people (or
more) who are interested in creating something new, I'll start doing some
leg work. Feel free to e-mail me directly :-)
