Watering Methods

Looking at watering alternatives. I know what thirsty little pigs those
pumpkin plants can become. Would be curious what preferences in watering
are out there. The soaker hoses seem to deliver water at a rate which the
ground can absorb. However, how often and how long should the soaker hose
be turned on during the day. Also, realizing the importance of getting
atmospheric air into the soil, should an alternating wet / dry schedule
prove more effective. Now there is a thought. What about pumping
atmospheric gas into the soil between watering, or wafting additional CO2
over the leaves? Perhaps way too Frankenstein for me. Personal note, "If I
think that I will ever try just a spray hose again, someone nominate me for
brain surgery."

Yesterday, I received my new French electric-mat heated, germination
humidome. Eagerly awaiting sowing some of those big monster AG seeds.
(Hurray)
