seed selection

Andrew,
Here is my list as of today, and it looks similar to Joe Pukos's
selections..

1. Brown 769 is a no brainer as it grew 1000 pounder 10 miles up the
road.. I am firm believer in locality growing being beneficial.

2. Calai 846 is also no brainer, but goes against my white/cream/salmon
color idealisms being heavier.. The neighborhood wont know what to do
with an orange pumpkin..

3. Eaton 780 .... if it is good enough for Al to plant several each
year, there has got to be something to this one.

4. Checkon 815.... wonderful plant vigor, doesnt set alot of females,
but I had 3 5 lobers and a 6 lober on the main last year.. Grew my 771.6
and 679.5 5 ft apart on the main.. Checkon 815 also grew the 1190 of the
Checkons..

5. Rockwell 879 .. I figure Ill try to grow a squash this year and give
Scott's son a run for his money in Altoona.. I am growing a pollenator
squash plant, either the Hester 895 or the Hebb 990.. If you grow
squash, you had better have something to cross with it green for purity.

I will be backing all of these plants up with my 771.6 and 679.5 plants.
I plan on double planting all the hills with a plant from each of
these.. , insurance purposes..
