Comments on Dick Baird
Truely a great man.....Funny and very generous.....A story about my
first meeting with Dick!!!
Went to the ohio tour for the first time 3 years ago.....They give
away a few real real nice pumpkin shaped cutting boards....We wanted one
real real bad...of course...our names were never drawn......SOOOOOOOOO I
musturd up some courage and walked up to Dick....introduced myself
..told him I was from Iowa.....He asked if I was having a good time and
such.....I told him I was a little troubled....He asked what about.....I
told him I really only wanted 2 things on my first trip to the Ohio
picnic..He asked what they were.......I replied...#1 was to meet and
greet the great Dick Baird I had heard so much about......#2 was to get
one of those damn nice Cutting boards His sawmill makes!!!! Well let's
just say 2 weeks from that day a Cutting board was delivered to my house
back in Iowa.... I do remember him mentioning one thing all pumpkin
growers have in common no matter where they grow....They all have a long
line of bullshit!!!! LOL!!!! He made my whole family feel right at home!!!
