Gene pool !!!!
List
Fist off I want to say congrats to Mike Brock for starting such a great
thread !! My complements !! second I saved ALL the emails from this thread
and read them this morning WOW that was allot !!
Of course the Pirate had to comment and so here it is! we are all chasing
the "Perfect seed" size, color, weight, etc. and if you were to take all the
possible gene combinations and map them it would take a computer quite a
while to break the code as to the perfect seed. here we go Good friends and
competitors trying to make the perfect seed. we can do it we just have to
decide what we are going to do to get that result !! do we apply for a grant
from the government for genetic study? do we decide on possible combinations
and all breed for one common goal ?? do we all just enjoy each others
enthusiasm and talk till out voice gives out every time we meet up at weigh
offs and seminars trying to get our point across as to the best cross ?? I
like all three, there is always room for each !!
I like inbreeding two lines as far away genetically from each other then
crossing them. I will be doing that with my 703* I have many great seeds to
cross it with including the 975 Zehr , 895.5 Hester* and 865 Mettler but I
will use it as a pollinator for most of my pumpkins this year. I know what I
am looking for and I will keep on it till I get what I am looking for !!!
For those of you wondering where I have been THE PIRATE is active in my
soul and I just planned a Long Range Fishing trip for 10 days from San Diego
CA to the HOT SPOTS for big Tuna in Mexico for just after Pumpkin season in
November any of those of you that want to get out of there cold weather and
see what the Mexican waters can bring in November join me there are plenty of
spots available for this trip !!! Fishing and pumpkin talk what could be
better !!!! www.shogunsportfishing.com
