Clear works better/faster, but at the expense of more weeds/seeds sprouting
unless you are doing a solarization. Black will prevent weeds but must be in
good contact with the soil to transfer heat.

I want to try and heat one of my mounds a little early by covering the
ground 
with plastic. Was wondering if there is any difference between using black 
plastic or clear plastic for this. Anybody tried this?
