Re: Big Zac Seeds

I just finished ordering some Big Zac tomato seeds from Reimer seeds. The
website said that they had become available on 2/15/05. The price and
shipping are reasonable. However, I don't know if it is like getting AG's
from the mail order places---genetics? It sounds like it is worth a try.

Thanks for the reply Marv. I think I should have a couple of packs left.
Let me know if you can't find any seeds I could send a few your way. Last
year I had 5 plants going. I don't really know what I am doing pruning
wise
but I gave it a shot. I have them at the edge of my pumpkin patch so it is
fun to watch them and easy to feed them. I had one weighing 2 and a half
pounds that split on me and rotted prior to going to Altoona. I also had
another plant that had toppled over and I thought I had picked all of the
fruit off of it. When I had my pumpkin picking crew over to get our
pumpkin with all of the goings on I forgot to give the tomato plants a
final
look over. While we were at the weighoff my mom noticed that I had missed
a big beautiful tomato on the fallen over plant which was hiding near the
bottom. She said it was perfectly shaped and ripe and huge. She decided
to weigh it by getting on her digital bathroom scale and weighing herself
and then weighing herself holding the tomato. There was a "4" pound
difference. I don't know what the actual weight was but I was disappointed
that I did not find it myself in time to take to Altoona :)

  Best wishes,

  Ned
