Try setting scarecrows with pumpkin heads on bales of hay with room for
someone to sit by it. You can then take a polaroid for 3.00 or something.
We also made orange slime and put it in halloween decorated baggies for 75
cents. I was planning on getting a small cotton candy machine and making
orange or black.
Another idea we plan on using is hot apple cider with vanilla and coffee.
Just be sure to use a stainless steel big urn, like they use in churches and
disposable styro cups so you have no health dept concerns.
Saw a pumpkin farm in Wis. that had kid's wagons painted orange and
had "pumpkin express" painted on the side. The people hauled the pumpkins
in them and the kids could ride in them.
I also found some of those triangular flags like they have in car
lots that are orange and on a rope. We strung those to attract attention.
What is the population of your town? We are about 1500 people and
since you said you had around 600 visitors .....I wondered how large your
area is.
We also this year are going to invite the Head start and preschool
kids to come for free. Then we'll let the local weekly paper know and have
them come and take pix and do a little article, makes good advertising.
I also have a button maker called badge a minute, runs around
$25.00. You can make buttons with "I visited....pumpkin farm" etc. You can
even put photo's on them but it's a little trickier. if you do them let me
know and I'll tell you the trick.

        Hope to hear from you....
