Hi All,
If you do not have a compost pile started and are not into the worm bin
thing, don't forget to check out your local horse or cow manure pile for
free Red Wigglers. I just returned from our local horse manure dump at
Grizzly Peak stables with several one gallon buckets full of Red Wigglers
for transplanting to my patch. Look in the slightly aged zone about 4" to
6" deep. There you will find them by the thousands as temperatures begin to
warm with the approach of spring! If the manure pile is active you should
be able to collect several gallons of them in an hour. This certainly beats
mail order prices from your local worm farm!
