Hi,
I just recently added about 10 yrds. of manure that a farmer had
been saving for me. This stuff was very heavy, wet, and stinky. Most of
this manure contains hay that the cows didn't eat, about 50/50. When I
put it on my garden it looks like a giant layer of dead weeds. In about
4 to 5 months from now should I rake off the hay, treat it as green
manure, or possibly use it as hard organic matter to help strike a
balance between hard and soft organic matter. I also thought that maybe
after I plow it under it would decompose over the growing season. I
didn't want to have to much hard organic matter and tie up nutrience.
Any thoughts on this.
Thanks, Joe (Logan,Ohio)
