I am going to step back from commiting to the Halloween date for the
Southern Cup competition for two reasons that came to me in my sleep
over the weekend. I am concerned about two things. Taking advantage of
the momentum that is present after the GPC weigh-off is my first concern
and having ample time to give to local newspapers for pumpkin stories
for the Halloween season. A deadline of Halloween would be too late. The
interest in pumpkins dies off rather quickly after Oct. 3l. I am looking
more now at exactly one week after the GPC weigh-off to determine the
winner. Any thoughts on this by SPGA members?

Got your great pictures and articles. Your daughters are lovely. You
were a father quite early in life. I have two boys 6 and 8. Nothing like
it. We are lucky. How do you feel about the date change?
