Thank you everyone for the info on the swan neck hoe....get on the phone and
get one of those 9 inch hoes. The ends of the hoe come to a slim point so you
can do some weed removal surgery very close to the plants. Keep the blade
parallel to the ground and skim the weeds off. The blade is just barely under
the surface of the soil so it doesn't bring up new weed seeds. The secret to
easy weeding is to never let the weeds get big. That hoe will skim off half
inch weeds faster than you can imagine.....let the later weeds come up and
skim again and you will have little problems with weeds after two skimmings.
Pulling large weeds is not fun. Skimming little weeds with a swan neck is
almost fun.
