Maybe genetic adaption wasn't the way to state this question..,,,maybe are
they better suited?....all i know is that some seeds do not do well in Ca.
and some growers stay away from certain lines....because( and i don't know
why) the 449mar was very sensitive to our climate....genetically it didn't
have what it takes to keep up with the transpiration.....more than one
grower experienced this, .......If you look at the majority of large
pumpkins they come from 45 degrees north......the similarities in climate
point toward a cooler climate.....than CAL....Its to soon to tell but those
that altered their micro climate with misting systems have cooled things
down and showed good results..here...I know when i choose tomato seeds i
have to choose seed that does the best in our climate.....same with
strawberries not all varieties do well here......I don't know why but as I
select the largest garlic each year for seed... why do they keep getting
bigger each year???.............and the question is... like most the other
vegies...are you better off....... choosing from seed that has proven to do
well in your type of climate??...........I know you can't get "for sure"
cast in concrete answers but i find this more entertaining than T.V.
Does the 567.5 mombert do best in oregon and Washington?
Is the record pumpkin in Australia grown from last years seed?
Do more growers do better using their last year seed or seed from there area?
Ah! hell i better turn on the the T.V. and shut this pumpkinhead down.....brock
