To the Pumpkin List,
I would like to thank everyone on the list for their patience
while I gathered all the bits of information to help organize the
southern grower. I think that it is important because if we are to
spread the Great Sport of Pumpkin Growing we have to find ways to
encourage those would be growers who live in areas less then perfect to
the sport. Without a vehicle like the pumpkin-list it would not have
been an easy task (not to say this was easy) to make the connections
needed to establish the Southern Pumpkin Growers Association. Now that
the nucleus is formed I think much of the organizational communications
can come by the way of personal e-mail and not the pumpkin-list. I am
asking that all members or those seeking to be, please direct your mail
to MillsJ@doaks.org. Messages of broad appeal will still be sent to the
pumpkin-list but day-to-day business should now be routed to the given
address. The SPGA is alive and well and looking forward to its first
newsletter. All the great people on this list made it possible and I and
the rest of the members thank you.
