My germination chamber

It's an idea I got from Pumpkinguy. Quite simple - an old electric
frying pan from the thrift shop in which I put about an inch of wet
sand.

On the sand I place 4" peat pots containing seed, and put a snug-fitting
cardboard box over the whole affair. A couple of holes punched in the
top for ventilation.

Temperature inside can be easily maintained at 85F even though it gets
close to freezing outside.

My preliminary seeds failed due (I think) to a combination of infected
soil and high humidity, so I'm trying it again with a sterilized medium
for the seeds and will try to keep things drier inside, with more
ventilation.
