Update+poem


G day to all you cold Americans and hello to my fellow Aussies.

After 7 pumpkins aborting at 40 to 50 inches I thought it was time to give 
up.
But 2 hidden ones are showing some promise. I m not out of the race yet.
These are on my 1006 which is a huge plant.
My 990.........I made the ultimate sacrifice and pulled it out.
It only had one fruit at 28 inches and that one fruit stopped growing a 
month ago.
I needed the room and it just wasn t doing the job.
So all my eggs are in one basket now.
I have done lots of spying in the last week and there are some real good 
pumpkins
down here in Adelaide. But the game isn t over until the big lady sings 
right!
I still have 40 days to go and believe me I m not wasting them.
The weather is hot, the beer is cold and the pumpkins are growing.
What more could one ask for?

It's Getting Close

It's getting close
Only two months to go
I'm scared to death
My pumpkin might blow
My hairs turning grey
Something s not right
I pace up and down
I can't sleep at night
I'm smoking so much
I've developed a cough
And drinking more often
I'll have to lay off
What lays in store
Will my pumpkin stop growing
I measure it daily
I can't handle not knowing
Who's pumpkin will win
Will it be mine
I'm scared and excited
All at the same time
