Re: Pumpermelons?

     Tony,

are we whining down under? my first year i got the biggest harvest of
vine borers anyone has ever recorded, and a 78 lb pumpkin that rotted
by the first week of sept. I didn't complain, i broke down on my knees
and cried then i vowed to get better next year, and as for those vine
borrers they know not to mess with me anymore. i think they are on the
endangered species list in these parts. any way it sounds like either
heat stress or poor polination. check the archives on those subjects
and see what you find. good luck. i know you can do better next time!

     ;-)

     Jim

Can you cross a pumpkin with a watermelon?

My pathetic pumpkins are all the shape of watermelons.
They get to 30 - 50 inches then rot away.
I am looking for some one or something to blame for my
failure. Maybe I'm growing PUMPERMELONS or WATERKINS.

I have taken this sport far too seriously this season.

I will not chase the big pumpkin anymore !!!!!!!

The big pumpkin can come to me!!!!!!!!
