 Pumpkinguy and Marv,
I use a 2 gallon plastic watering can and a garden hose to get my big
70lbers.
So much for matching and mirroring the heavy hitters. If I was a pumpkin,
I'd
want to grow in your patch.

By the way, what is a concentrated Peter?

Patrick,
Fertilizer injectors are just tiny little chemical feed pumps. When the
water turns on, the injector squirts a tiny amount of concentrated Peters
(brand) plant food into the water that is going out to the sprinklers. You
could use Miracle Gro, or any other brand. A typical ratio on a fertilizer
injector might be set at 100 to 1. Meaning that for every 100 gallons of water
sprayed on, you would inject 1 gallon of fertilizer concentrate. Many
professional bags of fertilizer will have injector rates on the back of the
bag. It is easy though, if your injector is set at 100 to 1, you make your
solution 100 times too strong. If you wanted one quarter of a tablespoon per
gallon, multiply by 100.....or........25 tablespoons per gallon in the
injector barrel. To check your injector, you can take a sample of your water
coming out of the sprinklers and send it off to the lab. They will tell you
how many parts per million of Nitrogen.
