At least with the energy and dedication to dig over the patch again.
Just a suggestion, my experience with people that prospect for gold with
metal detectors is that they are often as organized and helpful as giant
veggie growers, maybe there's a prospecting club nearby. I worked with
one of these people once and he was full of odd stories of helping in
just this sort of way.
