Hi all --
I was just given a book called "Llewellyn's 1999 Moon Sign Book &
Gardening Almanack" by a friend who swears by this stuff. I personally
have no experience planting by the signs of the moon -- I mostly plant
stuff when I have time & the weather's ok, but who knows? I may be
missing something big! Here are the suggestions for dates & times for
planting pumpkins for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere; I don't
know when you guys in NZ & Australia start planting, but if you're
interested, I'll look up those 1999 dates too. Let me know!
2d quarter (2d half of new moon to full moon phase) although anything
from new moon to full moon is supposed to be good.
Signs of Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces, Libra
All times are Eastern Standard; Add or subtract to get your time (e.g.,
CST, subtract 1 hour, etc.)
Mar 23, 11:33p - Mar 24, 5:18a, Cancer, 2d quarter
Mar 30, 8:50p - Mar 31, 5:50p, Libra, 2d quarter
April 27, 2:47a - April 29, 2:13p, Libra, 2d quarter
April 29, 2:13p - April 30, 9:55a, Scorpio, 2d quarter
May 24, 8:29a - May 26, 8:05p, Libra, 2d quarter
May 26, 8:05p - May 29, 8:37a, Scorpio, 2d quarter
June 20, 3:10p - June 23, 2:18a, Libra, 2d quarter
June 23, 2:18a - June 25, 2:51p, Scorpio, 2d quarter
Who knows? If the weather's right during that May window, I'll be
giving it a shot.
