I have a question for anyone who has used heating cables...
I plan on using heating cables this year. In the spring, it would seem like
a pain to have to bury 36-48ft of cable. Then to go and dig them up in the
fall and end up with a tangled mess. I was going to first attach them to a
piece of 3x3ft of plastic fencing, then go ahead and bury the whole thing
6-8" deep. It would seem once uncovered in the fall they would store a lot
neater. Any thoughts?

I buy 6' - 8' from Gurney's and use them just at the main root zone.
