Mike,

Here is a quote from a soils lab on my soil test.

"High levels of organic matter should have a beneficial effect on the
growth  and "soil" PH may not be as critical."

I would imagine that as the soil digest the OM  it will come down.

I think that you should focus on the base saturations  of potassium
,magnesium, calcium achieveing a balance of
8%K,15%Mg,85%calcium...........MB
