I have a 780Eaton and I was wondering what everyone
thought about it. I will be planting this seed and would like to know as
much as I can about it. On the AGGC website, it shows the results of the
first year of growing as the female, but I would also like to know what
pumpkins were from the 780Eaton as the male pollenator.
I also have a 726.5Holland that I am considering
planting. It was off his 1997 879Holland seed. The fruit started out
a pumpkin color and by the end of the season, green had developed over 25% of
it's surface making it technically, a squash. It weighed 100lbs. over
charts. Both parents were pumpkins(879Hollandx935Lloyd) so I think the
squash might be a recessive trait. Maybe I could breed the green color out
of it by crossing it with another pumpkin? What do all of you think?
Is anyone else considering planting this seed this spring?
Any thoughts and/or ideas would be greatly
appreciated!!
Thanks
Gary Grunow and
family
