Re: Oregon Update - Seed Exp.

In replying to the question of growing the same seed over and over again and
seeing any similarities, yes I definately did in the #627.5 Hester.
Consistantly it is absolutely the most vigorous plant I have raised. Every
seed has been a very fast grower vegetatively, big strong plants and root
systems, but unfortunately they can't seem to hold together. In 98 I had a
#627.5, the plant that had "Scar" if anyone remembers, that had 8 pumpkins on
it and each was packing on over 40 pounds a day. They grow faster and faster
as the plant gets bigger, until the split apart. The only decent offspring
from the #627 to make it to a weighoff was the #598 Hester 97 that grew where
no fertilizer was used. All fruit were nice orange, not glossy orange like a
Mombert though and all had nice high and wide shape.
