Re: Overlooked seeds?

Hi John.
I totally agree with that statement above. I thought i was the only one to
recognize that the first generation offspring of the 825.5 shymanski seem to
produce. My 762 was grown from the 788 Wentzell, which was grown from the
825.5 shymanski and crossed with the 606 Wentzell. My guess is that if you
can cross the 825.5 with a seed that distanly related with genetics for
thick walls and heavieness, or just a seeds the has genetics for thick walls
and heavieness, it has a good chance of being a decent producer....in my
opinion of course.
Other seeds i see that could be sleepers waiting to wake up, or are not
quite proven and have the chance to be good:
747 Wyckoff
880 Lloyd
350 Est Lavangine
991 Hunt
655 Johnson
642 Snow
500 Hebb EST
The 655 Johson is an interesting one to me, i am going to grow it this year.
Many WI growers are going to grow it so we will find out how good it is.
Produces nice round orange pumpkins though. Jonh, aren't you from WI? I live
in Amherst Jct. WI....10 miles southest of Stevens Point.
