I'll leave myself open for attack here but I'm not believing what I hear. I
agree that cultural practices are VERY VERY important....probably the second
most important in this hobby behind climate. But to say that ..or infer
that...a guy growing 5 plants has no better shot at a big one than a guy
growing 1-2 is incomprehensible. Some 946.5Geertz just don't do it !
Splits...blowouts...nonperformers....they all take thier toll on the odds. If
you have one plant you either don't push it to its limit or you run the risk
of going home early...no backups . If you have five plants you can "push"
more or risk more......
Here's the challege...the equilizer when it comes to plant numbers...(not
climates)...all you "successful repeat producers"..declair ONE plant of your
3-10 (and there's guys out there with 20 !) on June 15 as the "contest
plant"....THAT ONE is the fruit that counts on Oct 3 or whatever....who wants
to play those odds?!.......G
ps...If Im as far off-base as i am led to believe private emails are ok as to
not clog this list with what many would consider B.S. posts.
