Hello List,

The following coorespondence is one I had recently with
Gurney's. The good news is, Gurney's is giving fast
responses to your emails. The bad news is, I'm still not
sure where to go to find outdoor heating cables.

Anyway, I thought I'd share the following.

That is the one I have been using outdoors for years.  They don't make them for garden use because we are the only nuts that would use them.  The only change they might make is a heaver cord but the wattage is very low and I tape up a heavy duty cord to them on a Ground Fault Interrupter (important!).  The rest of the unit is made to be buried in the ground but in a starting tray.  Hope that helps.
