I have got 2 feet of snow over my patch,... temps haven't gone above 30
degrees in two weeks now... nightly temps as low as 12 below zero and highs
usually (daytime temps) in the teens to low 20's!!!!
Now you can see how hard it is to grow a pumpkin here in the NorthEast... we
won't get rid of the snow until (usually) the beginning (at best) of April.
This is for Central Massachusetts, those growers that live in Eastern Mass
and along the Coast have a completely different climate... alot of times
they don't even get snow to cover the ground.
So you Californian's have it made in comparison.
