Re: 1215 Hebb X Self

Mike;

I was one person of two I know that grew
the 1215 Hebb {875 Dill X sibb}. My season
was pretty much ruined by July 18th hail, so
how well I would have done without that set
back is unknown. I did grow the 1215 Hebb,
as did Lisa Wentzell. I am unsure of the exact
weight of hers {mid 400's I think}. Mine was
only in the mid 3 hundreds...353.8 to be exact.

OK... details on the traits from it... I grew two
fruits on it in 500 SF... one of the fruits split
after trying the Pistano grow em or blow em
method {LMAO....did just that}, then before
ruining the second fruit, I slowed down watering
and managed to set and keep a second fruit, as
that pumpkin did not split, and was a very thick
fruit with no splits. Although a late set fruit, I did
manage to get some viable seeds out of the second
fruit [1215 X 940 Mombert 98}. The first fruit
I ruined also had enough viable seeds in it... and
I luckily got some stashed from it as well. The
fruit color was white, not the orange I hoped for.
The first cross I made was which you might agree
was the most important genetic cross to do from
this seed... an 1215 X self.

Although not as vigorous of a fruit grower
as the 810 Dill plant was, it is hard to determine
just what this genetic could have done. I was
super impressed with how the 810 did in a short
grow time compared to the 1215, so that is why
I prefer growing seeds from it instead of either
seeds made from the 1215. My 810 Dill showed
incredible comeback and defiance, by re- growing
sides and leaves much faster than any other of the
plants, and a 666.6 pound fruit as well.

Also I should also mention that I also grew the 875
Dill, also another plant difficult to determine what
it's potentials were, due to hail. That plant was my
second best "after hail" plant....growing a 431.6 in
a short time. I self crossed that along with another,
a 875 X 940 98 Mombert cross { it never had any
mature seeds, none developed in time}. The 875 X self
seeds were in abundance, and I liked that seed cross &
genetic more that either of the 1215's, as well.

I do have viable seeds from both of the 1215 genetic
crosses, so this rare genetic is not lost! I only know
I have two other rare Dill genetic genes I'd prefer more
in which to grow. That does not mean that the 1215
crossed aren't worthy, or a genetic to be overlooked.
I thought it would be worthy to mention all the details
of all 3 plants to better inform everyone of how it did,
compared to plants which were equally destroyed. I
do have seeds available from the 1215 x self, as well
as seeds from the 1215 X 940 98 Mombert. Anyone
who likes these genetics, and wished for seeds, I have
'em if you want 'em! If you like 875's...I have my selfed
875 seeds, or if the 810 is more your fancy, I have 810
selfed seeds also { the 666.6]. Choose whatever is
your favorite Dill genetic, & send me your BP's for rare
isolated genes, only 13 viable seeds from it, and 2 have
already been grown. I've created the 2 most logical crosses
from that genetic.

I'd like to hear details of Lisa's plant as well, so someone
please post what they know about hers. I'd like to compare
what traits she experienced on her 1215 Hebb plant.
