Thanks Pete
The new plant I've got going is showing some promise, quite a few side vines
spreading out. One thing I did not do wiht the first one is bury the main
stem as it grew out, which I have done on this plant now. Looking really
healthy, just a few spots of Powdery Mildew which I'll have to treat.
The pumpkin network is great, I get a lot of encouragement being part of a
greater group of people, encouraging me to keep going.
Hope you're not still snowed in!
Alan

Alan,
Thanks for the information. Had no
idea
they grew that many things. Sounds like their is no reason you couldn't grow
a big pumpkin there. You may have some different deseases and insects but
you
could probably find out from some of the vegetable growers there what to
look
for and how to treat them.
Hope you get the book Kathie was referring to and have better luck. It don't
come all at once as I have found out, but the people are great and learning
anything is never dull.
Keep it going, and good luck.
Pete
