Duncan,
My understanding is that you should divide the total amount of fertilizer
that you would apply in a week and divide that up into every watering. This
helps in the way that there is no drastic changes, which makes the pumpkin
take longer to mature (longer growing time). The frequency at which you
water depends on a number of factors, mostly climate and soil type. I
personally water every 2 days.
