Jim:
Nice try, Jim! Seeds on their way to the moon? Be careful, someone might
actually believe you!
You brought up an interesting pollination question.....kind of hard to self
pollinate in a zero gravity, vacuum type of environment. Come to think of it,
it would be kind of hard to germinate seeds below zero, too.
It's fun to imagine the moon as a temperate planet, with a pumpkin vine
emerging and growing in Zero G's. Just think of the size and symmetry of an
AG!
Perhaps we could get together and plan a scientific experiment involving
growth of pumpkin seeds in space, then apply for a government grant (we'd be a
shoe-in) and really get a chance to send our seeds into space on the shuttle.
We could get everyone to contribute their best seeds for the experiment and
gain some notoriety!
I can see the headlines now: " Shuttle landing early; pumpkin vine threatens
crew!" or "Pumpkin growth beyond control; shuttle bay doors fail to contain
giant gourd!"
Don't mind me, just having a little fun!
