You want to be certain that your soil is warm and no frost is expected. If you
plan to till directly into the garden, you may have to wait until beginning
of June or thereabouts.
I suggest doing some reading on growing zones and ask your local garden shop
to give you planting advice. They are often familiar with the weather in your
area.
Besides the info gathered here, the library and agricultural cooperative
extension office can provide a wealth of info. Read, read, read!!!! Ask ask
