Pat:
You should have little problem growing pumpkins in TX. Talk to your local ag
center to see what they suggest. Prepare a plot and I'm sure someone on this
group has a few seeds to spare.
While most of the seed from the prize winning pumpkins is gone or in reserve,
I'm sure someone can send you some seed from a 400-700 pounder. This will give
you a good start.
If you get no response, you can order Atlantic Giant Seeds by mail. Double

I have some seeds from a 99 pounder that you can have. It was field
pollinated, the bees did all the work. The size was small because the vines
were not pruned and several fruit grew on the same vine. Of course, this is
not advisable when growing pumpkins for competition.
Anyway, if you send me a self addressed bubble envelope that is stamped with
56 cents postage, I will send you a packet full.
My address is: 171 Wildwood Drive, Sanford, FL 32773
Good Luck!
